Hazlewood Castle Wedding Photographer

I have been a wedding photographer at Hazlewood Castle on quite a few occasions. When Gareth and Rebecca asked me to photograph their wedding day at this wonderful Yorkshire venue, I was absolutely delighted. I knew it was going to be an amazing day as they had made some big plans and surprises throughout the day.

HAZLEWOOD CASTLE WEDDING VENUE

Rebecca had her bridal preparations with her friends and bridesmaids at Hazlewood Castle. When she put her wedding dress on she looked amazing and you could feel the excitement start to build. The boys arrived by car just before the wedding ceremony started and they were up to their fun tricks with the groom, so it was an indication it was going to be a fun day.

After the ceremony the guests headed outside the throw the confetti over the newlyweds, we then had drinks out on the terrace. The bride and groom had a go at opening a bottle of champagne with a sword. This did not go well for Gareth with the bottle smashing and the contents of the bottle emptying out all over his wedding suit!

The day continued with the biggest surprise namely the singing waiters- they were fantastic and everyone loved them. That got the party started and we never stopped having fun throughout the whole day. Here are a few photographs from the day. If you like my documentary photography approach and you have a wedding coming up at Hazlewood Castle, feel free to get in contact.

If you’re looking for something more tradition, St Leonard’s Chapel is situated to the East of the Castle, and comes complete with Palladian altar piece, fine fretwork and glass decorated with symbols of passion. Built in 1286, it still has its own working organ.  It’s not licensed for weddings but you can get married in advance and then enjoy a blessing at St Leonards.

For small and intimate weddings, The Grade I listed Victoria Room is ideal.  A beautiful hooded stone fireplace, panelled woodwork and metallic wallpaper.  Dual aspect windows throw in tons of natural light.  It can accommodate up to 25 seated guests proving that you can still have all the grandeur of a castle wedding at a smaller celebration.
