Sorrento Wedding Photography
I am always thrilled to return to Italy’s south western coast to be a Sorrento wedding photographer. Who could fail to be captivated by this idyllic coastal town facing the bay of Naples. Dramatic cliffs separate the town from its busy marinas. And the towns elevated position gives it magnificent views that can be enjoyed from the Piazzo Tasso, a characterful café-lined square. Sorrento’s historic centre is a warren of narrow alleyways and the Chiesa di San Francesco, a 14th -century church with a tranquil cloister.

One of the many things I love about being a Sorrento wedding photographer, are the beautiful and varied backdrops the town offers me in wedding photos. Whether it’s the azure sea at sunset, or the ancient charm of Sorrento’s streets. I am always spoilt for choice for stunning backdrops for beautiful wedding photos.
Documentary Sorrento wedding photography
For weddings, Sorrento is a popular choice due to its mild climate, making it perfect for weddings even in Spring and Autumn when the area has fewer tourists. It has a host of venues for wedding ceremonies and restaurants for wedding celebrations. The climate makes Sorrento ideal for outdoor weddings with a host of beautiful gardens and cloisters on offer, many with fantastic coastal views.
A favourite venue of mine when I’m capturing wedding photography in Sorrento, are the Sorrento Cloisters. These 14thcentury cloisters are located in the heart of the town. And are one of the most tranquil spots on Sorrento because they are adjacent to the gardens of the Baroque San Francesco Church. Enjoy romantic architecture and traditional Italian rustic greenery that make exquisite backdrops in your wedding photos.
Another favourite Sorrento wedding venue of mine is Villa Fondi. Just a short drive from the centre of Sorrento and perched high on the cliff top, is the 18th century neo-classical Villa Fondi. Situated in the municipal park it enjoys stunning sweeping views of the coast and countless botanical species, olive, palm and pine trees and flowerbeds. Creating an oasis of beauty with spectacular views.
For total privacy, you can choose to host your wedding at one of the many villas dotted in and around Sorrento. Like the splendid Villa Antiche Mura that is surrounded by an ancient citrus grove. It has elegant terraces that overlook the Gulf of Naples on one side and Mount Vesuvius from the other.
