One of Yorkshire’s finest wedding venues and one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph at, Goldsborough Hall has it all. Set on the south side of Harrogate, nestled in the small hamlet of Goldsborough this period house has everything to make that perfect wedding day. I love to use the gardens to make stunning wedding photographs. You will never be far away from your guests, so lets take a glass of champagne, stroll amongst the gardens and make some beautiful wedding photography.
Brides magazine has listed Goldsborough Hall in their top 100 venues, and second in the north of England and Scotland. The magazine labeled this Yorkshire wedding venue a “hidden gem” and called the sumptuous six bedroom suites as “stately with a modern twist”. Goldsborough Hall offers acres of beautifully landscaped grounds which boast unspoilt elevated views over tranquil parkland, vital for those all important photographs!

When I capture wedding photography at Goldsborough Hall, my day usually starts in one of their spacious suites that are the perfect place for the wedding parties to get ready together. With large windows, beautiful interiors and enough space for the wedding party, the make-up artist, the hairstylist and a Yorkshire wedding photographer, there to capture those all-important morning of the wedding images.

Goldsborough Hall offer a wealth of options for your wedding ceremony. Princess Mary’s Drawing Room is a beautiful room that houses an elegant baby grand piano. Light pours in through its vast double aspect windows creating tons of natural light that I play with to create even more beautiful wedding photos. It can seat up to 150 guests for a wedding ceremony and 150 for an evening reception when conjoined with The Library and The Conservatory Bar.

The stately Sir Richard Hutton Room has opulent 18th century features, including the triumphal Robert Adam’s pillars either side of the bay and the decorative cornices. It can seat up to 110 guests for a wedding ceremony and 90 for a sit-down wedding breakfast.
If you’re looking for something more contemporary for your wedding, The Orangery is a 1,000 square foot space. Elegant and flexible it has a dining area, and double doors that open onto a sun terrace where a marquee can be erected for larger celebrations. The Orangery also has direct access to the private gardens. When it comes to number, the Orangery can accommodate 110 seated guests, but with a marquee numbers can go up to 250 guests. This makes Goldsborough Hall a great venue for large and Asian weddings.

Wedding Photography at Goldsborough Hall
If a traditional wedding ceremony is more your thing, 13th century St Mary’s church stands adjacent to the Hall’s grounds. It has its own private royal entrance that you can use, which was used by HRH Princess Mary herself in the 1920’s. Goldsborough Hall also offer outdoor ceremonies in their beautiful gardens, and always have one of their indoor spaces ready to go in case of changes in the weather.
Another beautiful stately room at Goldsborough Hall is their Jacobean Library. This stunning room has period features and sumptuous interiors and is the perfect place for fireside reception drinks at winter weddings. In summer months reception drinks happen outside on the terrace and in the gardens.
Talking of gardens, Goldsborough Hall’s are award winning, and the perfect place for romantic photos of my couples. My favourite spots for amazing wedding photos are the beautiful herbaceous borders, the pretty woodland walk, the historic glass house and kitchen garden and Lime Tree walk. They all make amazing backdrops.
