As a busy Yorkshire wedding photographer, I work at the very best Yorkshire luxury wedding venues and this is never truer than being a Middleton Lodge wedding photographer. I always enjoy working at Middleton Lodge in either the main house or the Fig House.
This enchanting 18th century Georgian county estate sits in 200 acres of private North Yorkshire countryside on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. This large country house is brimming with Georgian charm, and outside it has a renowned walled garden perfect for stunning wedding photos. And as if that’s not enough, its award-wining hotel ensures that you and your guests are treated like royalty. It really is a magical setting for a luxurious country house wedding in Yorkshire.
Middleton Lodge offer great flexibility with weddings, by offering two separate venues in one location. You can choose to get married in the main house, where there four beautiful reception rooms on offer, that are centred around a sweeping staircase in the grand hall. That makes the most exquisite entrance and backdrop in wedding photos.

Both the drawing room and the main hall are licensed to host civil ceremonies, and in summer months you can enjoy an outdoor ceremony under the pretty Wooden Pavilion on the croquet lawn. Drinks and canapes can then be served in the atmospheric Library Bar or in summer months outside on the private lawn and terrace.
For intimate weddings, their handsome dining room can host wedding breakfasts for up to 32 guests, or you can have a garden marquee for up to 170 guests. And late-night parties, can be held in the Cellar Bar, which has a much sought after 2am license.
The second venue at Middleton Lodge is Fig House and Walled Garden. This romantic two-acre garden contains Fig House and Boiler House Bar. Your ceremony can be held in The Boiler House Bar, or in summer months outside on the terrace and lawn in the walled garden.

Wedding feasts are held in Fig House that has stunning ceiling to floor doors overlooking the gardens. In summer months the doors are thrown open for the celebrations to spill outside. And with capacity for up to 200 evening guests, you can really enjoy an epic celebration. The Boiler House Bar has a license until 12 midnight.
One of the many things I love about capturing wedding photography at Middleton Lodge is the Italian vibe. Beautiful feasts on long tables, charming gardens with magnificent views. If you want to feel of a Italian Villa wedding on a Yorkshire wedding budget, then Middleton Lodge is definitely for you!
The helpful team at Middleton Lodge will allow you to blend both venues when creating your perfect wedding day. For example, you could have reception drinks at the main house, followed by a wedding breakfast at the Fig House and a late-night party in the cellar bar. With so many options you can create really have your wedding done your way!

When it comes to food Middleton Lodge has two award-winning on-site restaurants and pride themselves with their ‘Estate to Plate’ philosophy of working with the estate gardeners to plan, plant and pick produce from the estate garden wherever possible. For weddings, the chefs work with couples to create amazing bespoke wedding menus, so whether you want to go all out for fancy fine dining, or go for a more chilled out vibe with casual sharing platters, the one thing that is always guaranteed is that the food will be amazing.
For guest accommodation there are several options. The Main House has 16 beautifully appointed rooms ranging from spacious suites, that double up as perfect bridal/honeymoon suites, through to large luxurious doubles. In addition to this, The Coach House operates as a mini hotel with 9 luxurious double bedrooms. There’s also a charming six bedroom Farmhouse, perfect for accommodating your wedding party.
So, if you’re thinking of having your wedding in the Yorkshire, I hope this has been helpful to you. Middleton Lodge really is a stunning wedding venue but you don’t have to take my word for it. The most fun part of planning a wedding is getting to visit amazing wedding venues in beautiful places. So have fun with it!
