I love the stunning chateau’s of France, a magnifique location to get married.

France wedding photography has (and I never thought I would say this) now matches how I feel about my Tuscany wedding photography– I just love it! Since I had my first opportunity to photograph a wedding in France, I have fallen in love with the areas and the stunning locations. When I think of France I think about the long summer days, great food and wine, it is perfect for a relaxed summer destination wedding. The country has a very relaxed vibe about it, with a very relaxed outdoor lifestyle, small quaint towns and dramatic Chateaus that make amazing wedding venues.

Some of the Chateaus have undergone stunning renovations and have an imposing feel to them. The renovations enhance the features giving a modern feel to them but keeping the historical authenticity. Chateau weddings in France are set in varied back drops from vineyards, tree lined driveways, olive groves or rolling fields which all make the perfect backdrop for amazing wedding photography.

If you are looking for some inspiration and thinking of getting married in France then here are some of my favourite locations to give you a little insight of these amazing wedding venues.

CHATEAU LASFARAQUES

Chateau Lasfargues offers the perfect setting for any wonderfully romantic wedding. Nestled in the heart of the pretty Lot-et-Garonne valley and in easy reach of Bordeaux and Toulouse.

CHATEAU DU DOUX

Chateau du Doux is a unique French Chateau Wedding venue overlooking the Dordogne Valley. The home is run by an English family who take great pride in helping you create an amazing personalised wedding day.

The south west region of France with its rolling hills and amazing views give wedding guests the opportunities to explore the area, or just laze by the pool at the Chateau. It gives an alternative to more popular wedding locations such as Tuscany, Lake Como or Amalfi. The Dordogne region of France has a similar landscape to Tuscany that makes an amazing backdrop during the golden hour sunset time that I so love for couple portraits. It is also very easy to get to with a short 6-8 hour drive once you have crossed the Channel depending on your location.
