Documentary wedding photography at Swinton Park

As a busy North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I get to work at all the best North Yorkshire wedding venues, and this is certainly the case when I return to be a Swinton Park wedding photographer. If you can’t decide between having your wedding at a castle, a rustic barn or outdoors in an enchanting woodland with tipis, then you should visit Swinton Park as they offer all three at one beautiful location.
The Swinton Estate is a vast luxury estate in the North Yorkshire Dales with 20,000 acres to explore. Located within the estate is Swinton Park, a luxury wedding venue that consists of Grade II listed Swinton Castle, The charming and rustic Deer House, and an outdoor woodland wedding location.
Let’s start with the castle. Swinton Castle is a private luxury hotel with a breath-taking exterior and stunning interiors so makes an amazing backdrop in wedding photos. Five of its beautiful reception rooms are licensed to host wedding ceremonies (yes count them five!) and many double up to accommodate your wedding reception as well. The largest of these reception rooms is Samuel’s Restaurant that can accommodate 150 guests for a ceremony and 100 guests for a sit-down wedding breakfast.
For small intimate weddings the Private Sitting Room can accommodate 30 guests for a wedding ceremony, you can then enjoy a wedding breakfast in the Private Dining Room.

When I capture wedding photography at Swinton Park, I love the grandeur of the Drawing Room. It has beautifully ornate walls with period artwork, a crystal chandeliered ceiling and large windows overlooking the gardens and deer park. At winter weddings its atmosphere is enhanced by a crackling log fire. It can accommodate up to 60 guests for a wedding ceremony.
Outside of the Castle in the estate you will find The Deer House. This unique wooden structure is the perfect setting for a DIY wedding in the countryside. Ideal for outdoorsy couples who are looking for a laid-back wedding. The Deer House is brimming with rustic charm. Situated right in the deer park, that is home to over 200 Fallow Deer, it overlooks Swinton Castle and the rolling Yorkshire Hills. Throw open the doors to blend indoor and outdoor spaces, lay out fun outdoor games or even enjoy a silent disco. It has everything you need for a DIY boho wedding in Yorkshire.

And when you’ve found your perfect Yorkshire wedding venue, you’ll be looking for an experienced Yorkshire wedding photographer. Feel free to get in touch.
