My style of wedding photography is relaxed and informal, which gives a documentary style of coverage throughout your day. I want the day to flow at it’s own pace, I will blend into the background and capture fun filled images of you and your guests having fun and enjoying a glass of champagne.
I believe good photography is all about the people, the events, the warmth of the day, the love and the emotions. The pictures will tell the story of the day, they will make you laugh, they will make you smile everytime you see them and you may even shed a tear of joy when you first see them. When all the emotions of the day have passed, the honeymoon is over I will give you an album that you will cherish forever. The wedding photographs are one of the only the tangible things that you will have after the day. The wedding photography and wedding album should be viewed as an investment, something that you can share and treasure with your grand children in future years.
Anyone can call themselves a wedding photographer, since the digital revolution the marketplace has become saturated with new names companies offering glitzy deals and “one in a lifetime deals”. Make sure you hire the right photographer, someone who will deliver a consistent documentary style of photography, but also someone who you would enjoy spending time with on your wedding day.
I am based in North Yorkshire, however I photograph weddings throughout the UK. I also specialise in destination weddings across the world travelling to locations like New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Santorini and the Amalfi Coast. I love to travel and go to new venues; it gives me the opportunity to seek out new places to make amazing photographs. I could never be a photographer who worked at the same venue doing the same shots week in, week out!
I learnt my craft having started out as an underwater commercial photographer. I used to shoot using an underwater 35mm film camera shooting for commercial projects. I think this is where I got my love of travelling as I travelled the world with all my scuba gear and a big box of camera equipment! After taking a few years out I made a change of direction and started photographing weddings and have never looked back. I still use the skills today learnt from my days as an underwater photographer. Photography is all about capturing the perfect image with the correct lighting, get that right and you create a timeless photograph that will last forever.
