Tithe Barn Wedding Photography
Two of the best things about being a Yorkshire wedding photographer is getting to work with lovely couples like Bethan and Tom and doing their Tithe Barn wedding photography. Their spring wedding was a joy to capture.
But we’ll get back to all the reasons we love capturing wedding photography at Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey later. Let’s start at the beginning of Bethan and Tom’s day.

On the day, we got to Bethan’s parents house early to catch up with her and her bridal party who were getting ready. The atmosphere was fizzing with excitement and everybody was on great form. There were some great co-ordinated PJ’s and plenty of bubbly to get the party started. And Bethan was in the capable hands of make-up artist Georgie Sands.
Bethan looked totally stunning in a beautiful Caroline Castigliano dress that had exquisite leaf detailing and beautiful a line skirt that gave her a magical fairy-tale bride look and a a perfect silhouette in all of our images.

Bethan’s five bridesmaids wore gorgeous blush pink silk dresses and Bethan’s mum looked gorgeous in a white floral dress with a blush pink hat. We must mention flowers at this point.
They were amazing and were the handiwork of Rachel at Rose Cottage Barn.
We captured a really special father seeing the bride moment before heading to St John’s Church in Harrogate for the ceremony. With Bethan and her dad travelling in a gorgeous white Morris Minor car.

St John’s Church has special meaning for Bethan as it’s the church she attended as a child. On arrival we caught up with Tom who was greeting guests. Tom looked very smart in a navy three-piece suit with a blush pink tie.

The ceremony was lovely. St John’s Church is a really handsome building with beautiful wood floors, atmospheric columns and had nets of fairy lights zig zagging overhead that added to the magical feel of the ceremony. Afterwards, everybody headed outside for a fun confetti moment which we captured perfectly.

We got the chance to take a few group images before we all headed to Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey for the reception. Now we get to talk more about why we love capturing wedding photography at Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey. Built in the 16thcentury, the Grade II listed Tithe Barn is set within the grounds of the Duke of Devonshire’s majestic Bolton Abbey estate in the Yorkshire Dales. Re-imagined today as one of the most beautiful wedding barn wedding venues in Yorkshire and arguably the UK. It has beautiful interiors, stunning gardens and spectacular views which gives us endless beautiful backdrops for wedding photos. Bethan and Tom fell in love with the venue the second they saw it – who wouldn’t?

On arrival everybody enjoyed a drinks reception. Exclusive use meant that guests could happily meander around the stunning indoor and outdoor spaces. And as everybody chatted and took refreshments, we got some great images of the wedding party as well as some romantic portrait images of Bethan and Tom around the grounds.

The wedding reception took place in the Tithe Barn which had been dressed exquisitely. Bethan and Tom were welcomed rapturously by their guests. There followed a sumptuous wedding breakfast and some very well received speeches.

After which, we quickly whisked Bethan and Tom back outside for a few minutes to get some romantic sunset images of them. It was well worth the effort as the images we got were amongst our favourites of the day.
We always love getting romantic portrait images in the late afternoon early evening sunshine as it gives off a soft low light that we can play with create romantic images.

Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a spectacular five-layer wedding cake with layers of salted caramel, pistachio, white chocolate and honey. It was the very clever creation of the team at Three Little Birds Bakery and got eaten up entirely. As experienced Yorkshire wedding photographers who have been to hundreds of weddings, we have never seen a cake so large be consumed entirely at the wedding.
The party started with a romantic first dance for Bethan and Tom under the fairy lit beams of the barn. It wasn’t long before they were joined on the dancefloor as their guests were really up for a party and live band and DJ ‘Dance Floor Fillers’ were there to make sure they got one!

A beautiful wedding at a stunning Yorkshire wedding venue for Bethan and Tom. Congratulations on getting married and thank you for allowing us to tell the story of it. We loved it! We’ll leave the last words to Bethan and Tom. Here’s what they had to say about working with us.
“It went perfectly. We didn’t even notice Mark taking photos most of the time but they captured every single moment. They also got some lovely candid photos of our guests. We’ve had so many compliments about our photos and about how fun and professional Mark was on the day. Our photos are all so relaxed and natural and every time we look at them, we remember what an amazing day we had”– Bethan and Tom.
Tithe Barn Wedding Venue
Tithe Barn is nestled in the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, surrounded by stunning views this is one of Yorkshire’s finest wedding venues. As part of the Cripps Barn portfolio of wedding venues I have always been inspired by the quality and feel of the venue which is their ethos in making your wedding day the best day ever. The venue is constructed of solid oak beams and Yorkshire stone floors and has plenty of space for larger weddings. With space for 200 seated guests and up to 300 for the evening wedding function Tithe Barn makes for one of the best Yorkshire wedding venues.
The food at Tithe Barn is exceptional, they pride themselves on cooking over open flames with their indoor barbecue and French rotisseries. They define their food as a feast using only the finest ingredients and generous servings- I have to agree! If your there for the evening party then you cannot beat their mini pizzas which are just what you need after an evening on the dance floor.
